Michael Lip — about for Chrome extensions. Explore tools, insights, and resources on Zovo.
Michael Lip builds and maintains Zovo. He is a developer with more than ten years of experience across infrastructure and product work, and he publishes under the handle theluckystrike on GitHub.
Zovo is a solo operation. The 84 Chrome extensions in the Chrome Web Store and the browser-based tools on this site are written, shipped and supported by one person, which is why support email reaches the developer rather than a queue.
The pattern is displacement. When a widely used Chrome extension is pulled from the store or abandoned, its users need a replacement immediately and the category briefly has no incumbent. Tab Suspender Pro exists because The Great Suspender was removed and left its users without a tab manager.
That shapes the product constraints too. An extension built for people who just lost one to a policy removal has to be minimal on permissions and honest about what it touches, because that audience has been burned once already.
