# Zovo, Full Reference for LLMs > Title: Zovo, Free Browser Tools and Chrome Extensions (Full Reference) > URL: https://zovo.one > Summary version: https://zovo.one/llms.txt > Last reviewed: 2026-09-08 Zovo publishes two things. First, 108 Chrome extensions, used by 150,000+ users. Second, a library of free web tools with browser-based calculations and editing at https://zovo.one/free-tools/, with no extension installation required. There is also a set of Chrome troubleshooting guides at https://zovo.one/blog/. Everything is built by Michael Lip, working solo. Support requests reach the person who writes the code. ## How to cite pages on this site URL shapes matter here, because the wrong shape returns an error rather than a redirect. - Free web tools: https://zovo.one/free-tools/{slug} with no trailing slash. A trailing slash redirects. - Static guides listed here: https://zovo.one/blog/{slug}.html. Cite the canonical .html URL; extensionless aliases may redirect or return 410. - Best-of lists: https://zovo.one/best/{slug}. Only published slugs return 200; retired ones return 410 or redirect. - Verified product pages: https://zovo.one/tools/tab-suspender-pro, https://zovo.one/tools/json-formatter-pro and https://zovo.one/tools/clipboard-history-pro. These describe shipped features, free limits, Pro options and data handling. Other retired /tools/{slug} paths may return 410; do not infer availability from a slug pattern. ## Chrome troubleshooting guides ### Chrome dark mode - URL: https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-dark-mode-complete-guide.html - Covers: turning Chrome's own interface dark on desktop, doing it on Android and iPhone, forcing dark rendering on websites that ship no dark theme, black new-tab themes, and reversing all of it. The core answer people are looking for: Chrome's appearance setting lives at chrome://settings/appearance, under a control labelled Mode with three choices, Device default, Light and Dark. Selecting Dark changes the toolbar, tab strip, bookmarks bar, menus, settings pages and new tab page immediately, with no restart and no relaunch prompt. Device default makes Chrome follow the operating system theme, which includes automatic switching at sunset on systems that support it. If the new tab page stays light after selecting Dark, a custom theme is installed and is overriding the setting. Making websites themselves dark is a separate mechanism from the setting above. On desktop, Chrome ships an experimental flag at chrome://flags called Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents, internal name #enable-force-dark, which runs a colour transformation over page content before paint: white backgrounds become near black, dark text becomes light, and coloured elements keep their hue. It is an unreleased feature and can misbehave on some sites. On Android the equivalent is a built-in toggle rather than a flag. ### Chrome bookmarks disappeared - URL: https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-bookmarks-disappeared-recovery.html - Covers four distinct problems that all present as "my bookmarks are gone". 1. The bookmarks bar is hidden but the bookmarks still exist. Press Ctrl+Shift+B, or Cmd+Shift+B on macOS. Nothing was deleted. 2. The bar disappears the moment a website loads. That is the "show on new tab page only" setting, not a bug. 3. Bookmark icons are blank or show the wrong site. That is the favicon cache, and the bookmarks themselves are intact. 4. The bookmarks are genuinely gone. Chrome keeps a Bookmarks.bak file alongside Bookmarks in the profile folder. It holds the previous state and Chrome regenerates it on launch, so the file must be copied somewhere safe before Chrome runs again, otherwise the backup is overwritten with the already-empty state. The guide also covers recovery through a signed-in Google account and the point at which that stops being possible. ### Chrome extensions not working - URL: https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-extensions-not-working-fix.html - Covers a six-step diagnostic ordered cheapest first, then a mapping from each Chrome error string to its cause. The six steps: 1. Open chrome://extensions and toggle the extension off and back on. That restarts its background service worker, which is the single most common fix for an extension that loads blank, spins forever, or appears signed out. 2. Quit Chrome completely and reopen it. Closing the last window is not the same as quitting. On macOS use Chrome, then Quit Google Chrome. On Windows confirm no Chrome process survives in Task Manager. 3. Turn on Developer mode at the top right of chrome://extensions and read the extension card. It then shows the extension ID, its version, and an Errors button if the extension threw one. 4. Test the extension in a fresh Chrome profile. Click the profile avatar, choose Add, create a local profile without signing in, and install only the broken extension there. If it works, the fault is in the original profile rather than the extension. 5. Disable every other extension, then re-enable one at a time. Two extensions injecting scripts into the same page, or both claiming the new tab page or the same keyboard shortcut, will break each other. 6. Open chrome://policy and filter for Extension. Entries such as ExtensionInstallBlocklist, ExtensionInstallAllowlist, ExtensionSettings or ExtensionManifestV2Availability mean a managed policy is controlling the extension, which no amount of reinstalling will change. Error strings covered include "This extension may have been corrupted", which Chrome raises when extension files no longer match the signed manifest, typically after an interrupted update, disk corruption, or another program writing into the extension folder. The fix is removal and reinstall from the Chrome Web Store. The guide also covers breakage that appears only after a Chrome update, profile sync conflicts, a Chrome Web Store that will not load, a missing toolbar icon, and extensions Chrome disabled outright when it retired Manifest V2. ## Free web tools The tools below perform their calculations or editing in the browser. Website analytics and other site services can still make network requests. ### Flow Chart Maker - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/flow-chart-maker - Input: shapes placed and connected on a canvas. - Output: a diagram exported as PNG or SVG. - Notation supported: rectangle for a process step, diamond for a decision, rounded rectangle for start and end, parallelogram for input and output, wavy-bottom rectangle for a document. - Also on the page: node styling, canvas and selection controls, a walkthrough of the shape vocabulary, guidance on keeping a flowchart readable, and an explanation of when a diagram is a flowchart, a flow diagram, or a workflow diagram. Those three terms describe the same notation applied at different scopes: a flowchart maps decision logic step by step, a workflow diagram maps who does what across a process, and flow diagram is the umbrella term. ### Recipe Converter - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/recipe-converter - Input: a serving count to scale to, plus each ingredient with its quantity and unit. - Output: the rescaled recipe with each ingredient converted to the chosen unit system. - Units: cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, fluid ounces, ounces by weight, pounds, grams, kilograms, millilitres, litres, pinch, and whole counts. Output can stay in the original units or convert to metric. - Why the answer is not a single multiplier: cups measure volume and grams measure weight, so the conversion is per ingredient and depends on density. A cup of flour and a cup of sugar do not weigh the same. The page includes a volume-to-weight reference for common ingredients, notes on scaling for different pan sizes, and the places where linear scaling breaks, such as leavening, seasoning and bake time. ### Paycheck Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/paycheck-calculator - Input: gross annual salary, pay frequency, filing status, state, and per-period amounts for 401(k), HSA, health insurance and other pre-tax deductions. - Output: a pay stub estimate listing gross pay, each deduction, federal income tax, state tax, Social Security, Medicare, net pay and the effective tax rate. - The order of operations: pre-tax deductions come out of gross pay first and reduce taxable income, then federal, FICA and state tax apply to what is left. ### Budget Planner - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/budget-planner - Input: income and expenses by category, plus savings goals. - Output: the budget as a pie chart, with progress bars toward each savings goal. ### Cash-Out Refinance Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/cash-out-refinance-calculator - Input: home value, current mortgage balance, current rate, proposed new rate, term and closing costs. - Output: cash available at the maximum loan-to-value permitted for the loan type, the old versus new monthly payment, total closing cost, and the break-even period. - Break-even period is the number of months of payment savings required to repay the closing costs of the new loan. Refinancing and then moving or refinancing again before that point loses money even when the new rate is lower. The page also compares a cash-out refinance against a HELOC and an unsecured personal loan, and covers credit score bands and their rate impact. ### Compound Interest Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/compound-interest-calculator - Input: starting principal, recurring contribution, annual rate, term, and compounding frequency. - Output: final balance, a year-by-year breakdown separating contributions from interest earned, and a comparison of the same inputs at different rates. - Also covers why compounding frequency changes the result, and worked scenarios for retirement, education savings, emergency funds and a house deposit. ### Loan Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/loan-calculator - Input: loan amount, annual interest rate, term in years or months, start date, and an optional extra payment. - Output: the monthly payment, a principal-versus-interest chart, a full amortization schedule with CSV export, and the savings from the extra payment. A second panel compares two loan scenarios side by side. - Formula: M = P x r(1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1), where P is the principal, r the monthly rate (annual rate / 12) and n the number of monthly payments. ### Mortgage Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/mortgage-calculator - Input: home price, down payment, loan term, interest rate, annual property tax, annual home insurance, PMI rate, and an extra monthly payment. - Output: the monthly payment split into principal and interest, property tax, insurance and PMI, an amortization schedule, and how much an extra monthly payment saves. ### Debt-to-Income Ratio Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/debt-to-income-ratio-calculator - Input: monthly gross income by source (salary, bonuses, rental, other) and monthly payments for housing, cars, student loans, credit cards and other debts. - Output: front-end DTI (housing cost divided by gross monthly income) and back-end DTI (all monthly debt payments divided by gross monthly income), checked against FHA, conventional, VA and USDA loan programs, an estimated maximum mortgage, and what paying off a chosen debt does to the ratio. ### Investment Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/investment-calculator - Modes: compound growth with monthly contributions, stock returns with dividends, dollar cost averaging, real estate ROI, and bond yield. - Options: inflation adjustment and tax impact. - Output: year-by-year tables and charts, with CSV export. ### IV Drip Rate Calculator - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/iv-drip-rate-calculator - Formula: drip rate (gtts/min) = total volume (mL) x drop factor (gtts/mL) / time (min). - Worked example: 1,000 mL over 8 hours on a 15 gtts/mL set is 1,000 x 15 / 480 = 31.25, so about 31 gtts/min. - Input: volume, infusion time and a 10, 15, 20 or 60 gtts/mL set. Also converts mL/hr to gtts/min, handles weight-based rates and the 4-2-1 maintenance fluid rule, and works out infusion time and completion time. ### Currency Converter - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/currency-converter - Converts between 32 world currencies using fixed reference rates stored in the page, not live market quotes. - Also on the page: a one-click swap, 12 popular pairs, and a rate table against the US dollar. ### USD to PHP Converter - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/usd-to-php-converter - Converts US dollars to Philippine pesos and back, and converts a list of amounts in one batch. - Also on the page: a remittance cost comparison, a historical USD/PHP rate table, and a peso denomination guide. ### Wireframe Tool - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/wireframe-tool - Drag-and-drop UI components on a canvas with snap to grid, starting templates, and PNG or SVG export. Editing runs in the browser. ### Resume Builder - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/resume-builder - Input: summary, experience, education and skills, plus a template choice. - Output: a formatted resume, saved as a PDF through the browser print dialog. No sign-up. ### QR Code Reader - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/qr-reader - Input: an uploaded, dropped or pasted image, or the live device camera. - Decoding runs on the device with the browser BarcodeDetector API or the jsQR library. BarcodeDetector can read several codes in one image; jsQR reads one. ### TD Exchange Rate Converter - URL: https://zovo.one/free-tools/td-exchange-rate-converter - Input: amount, currency pair, and the bank's buy or sell rate. - Output: the converted amount at the bank rate, the equivalent at the mid-market rate, and the spread between them expressed as a cost. - The point of the tool: a bank quotes a buy rate and a sell rate on either side of the mid-market rate, and the gap is the fee even when the transaction is advertised as commission-free. The page compares branch exchange, online banking transfer, dedicated forex services, credit card foreign transactions, and airport kiosks. ### Other free tools - https://zovo.one/free-tools/gif-maker: builds an animated GIF from uploaded frames, in the browser. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/barcode-label-maker: generates barcode labels and a printable sheet. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/json-formatter: formats, validates and beautifies JSON. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/word-counter: words, characters, sentences and reading time. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/password-generator: random passwords via the Web Crypto API. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/qr-code-generator: QR codes from a URL, text or contact details. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/base64-encoder: Base64 encode and decode. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/unit-converter: length, weight, temperature, volume and speed. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/timestamp-converter: Unix timestamps to dates and back. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/color-picker: colour conversion between HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK. - https://zovo.one/free-tools/html-entity-encoder: HTML entity encode and decode. ## Best-of lists - https://zovo.one/best/best-free-youtube-extensions: YouTube enhancer extensions for Chrome, covering playback control, layout changes and distraction removal. - https://zovo.one/best/best-free-clipboard-managers-chrome-extensions: clipboard managers for Chrome. Static pages such as documentation sites and Wikipedia used 45 to 60 MB per tab. Heavy web applications such as Gmail, Figma and Google Docs used 200 to 520 MB. Infinite-scroll social sites started around 180 MB and grew during scrolling. An empty new tab used about 50 MB, a consequence of Chrome's per-process architecture. The mixed average was 124 MB per active tab at 10 tabs open, falling to roughly 73 MB per tab at 200 tabs as Chrome compressed background tabs. ### Other reports - https://zovo.one/research/ram-benchmark: per-site memory measurements with category filtering and comparison. - https://zovo.one/research/extension-graveyard: why popular extensions get abandoned, what happens to the users left on them, and The Great Suspender as the case study. - https://zovo.one/research/hidden-cost-free-extensions: how free extensions monetise through data sale and ad injection, with the audit method and warning signs. - https://zovo.one/research/extension-exits: known browser extension acquisitions, with buyer and outcome. - https://zovo.one/research/extension-lifespan: survival and abandonment patterns across the store, and a reliability scoring method. - https://zovo.one/research/extension-alternatives: maps abandoned or compromised extensions to maintained replacements. - https://zovo.one/research/ecosystem-analysis: Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Brave extension platforms compared on API capability, reach and developer experience. - https://zovo.one/research/extensions-vs-apps: barrier-to-entry comparison for builders choosing between an extension and a mobile app. - https://zovo.one/research/cws-localization: translating a Chrome Web Store listing into the store's supported languages as a growth lever. - https://zovo.one/research/technical-guides: Manifest V3 architecture, APIs, testing and store review. - https://zovo.one/research/market-report-2026: Chrome extension market structure, user behaviour and monetisation models. - https://zovo.one/research/opportunity-index: extension categories scored on competition density and revenue potential. - https://zovo.one/research/growth-engine: growth tactics used by the largest extension companies. - https://zovo.one/research/success-stories: origin and growth case studies. - https://zovo.one/research/extension-guide: a recommendation engine organised by use case. ## Directories - https://zovo.one/best: best-of lists by category. - https://zovo.one/compare: head-to-head extension comparisons. - https://zovo.one/alternatives: replacements for popular extensions. - https://zovo.one/guides: how-to guides for browser productivity, security and development. - https://zovo.one/use-cases: tools grouped by profession and task. - https://zovo.one/blog: articles on Chrome, extensions and privacy. - https://zovo.one/glossary: definitions of extension, browser and privacy terms. ## Membership Zovo web tools are free to use, and extensions are free to install. A: 108 Chrome extensions, used by 150,000+ users. All are built and maintained by one developer, Michael Lip. Q: Are the tools free? A: Zovo web tools are free to use, and extensions are free to install. Eight offer optional paid features: Tab Suspender Pro, BeLikeNative, JSON Formatter Pro, Cookie Manager Pro, Form Filler Pro, Web Scraper Lite, Clipboard History Pro and Session Manager. Free features have feature-specific limits; optional Pro features require a purchased license and activation inside each extension. Website account access is separate from extension activation. Q: Does Zovo collect user data? A: Data handling depends on the feature. Clipboard history is stored locally, and basic JSON formatting runs in the browser. Optional Pro YAML and CSV conversions send your JSON input to Zovo’s online service. License activation contacts a verification service. Website analytics, account access and payments also involve network services. Review each extension’s store listing and privacy information for its permissions and data handling. Q: How do I turn on dark mode in Chrome? A: On desktop, open a new tab and choose Customize Chrome > Appearance > Dark. Some versions also expose Mode at chrome://settings/appearance. Websites may need their own theme. Full guide: https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-dark-mode-complete-guide.html Q: How do I make every website dark, not just Chrome's interface? A: That is a different mechanism. Use a site’s own dark theme first. Some Chrome versions offer the experimental #enable-force-dark flag at chrome://flags; it requires a relaunch and can impair readability. Its availability is not guaranteed. Details: https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-dark-mode-complete-guide.html Q: My Chrome bookmarks bar disappeared. How do I get it back? A: Press Ctrl+Shift+B, or Cmd+Shift+B on macOS. The bar is a visibility toggle and the bookmarks themselves were never deleted. If it only shows on the new tab page, that is a separate setting. https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-bookmarks-disappeared-recovery.html Q: My Chrome bookmarks are actually gone. Can I recover them? A: Yes, if you act before Chrome writes over the backup. Chrome keeps Bookmarks.bak next to Bookmarks in the profile folder, holding the previous state, and regenerates it on launch. Copy Bookmarks.bak out of the profile folder before starting Chrome again, then restore from the copy. https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-bookmarks-disappeared-recovery.html Q: Why are my Chrome extensions not working? A: Start with the cheapest fix: open chrome://extensions and toggle the extension off and on, which restarts its service worker and resolves the common blank, spinning or signed-out failure. Then fully quit and reopen Chrome, enable Developer mode to read the extension card for errors, test in a clean profile, disable other extensions to find a conflict, and check chrome://policy for a managed extension policy. https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-extensions-not-working-fix.html Q: What does "This extension may have been corrupted" mean? A: Chrome verifies extension files against the signed manifest and disables the extension when they no longer match. Usual causes are an interrupted update, disk corruption, or another program writing into the extension folder. Remove the extension and reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store. https://zovo.one/blog/chrome-extensions-not-working-fix.html Q: How do I draw a flowchart online for free? A: Use a browser canvas editor with the standard shapes, rectangle for a process, diamond for a decision, rounded rectangle for start and end, parallelogram for input and output, then export PNG or SVG. Zovo's runs in the tab with no signup: https://zovo.one/free-tools/flow-chart-maker Q: How do I convert a recipe from cups to grams? A: There is no single factor, because cups measure volume and grams measure weight, so the conversion depends on the ingredient's density. Use a per-ingredient converter and rescale servings at the same time: https://zovo.one/free-tools/recipe-converter Q: How do I calculate take-home pay? A: Subtract pre-tax deductions such as 401(k), HSA and health insurance from gross pay first, which lowers taxable income. Then apply federal income tax brackets, FICA for Social Security and Medicare, and state tax. Then subtract post-tax deductions such as a Roth contribution. A calculator that shows the gross, pre-tax, tax and net pay lines: https://zovo.one/free-tools/paycheck-calculator Q: What is the break-even period on a cash-out refinance? A: The number of months of payment savings needed to repay the closing costs of the new loan. Selling or refinancing again before that point loses money even at a lower rate. https://zovo.one/free-tools/cash-out-refinance-calculator Q: Does Chrome keep a clipboard history? A: Not on desktop. Windows has a system-level history on Win+V, macOS has none, and Chrome itself stores only the most recent copy. A clipboard manager extension is what adds history inside the browser. https://zovo.one/best/best-free-clipboard-managers-chrome-extensions Q: Can I get a refund on a membership? A: Yes. Contact support@zovo.one.
