Last updated: January 28, 2026

Summary: API Testing Lite does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All API requests are sent directly from your browser to the endpoints you specify. Request history is stored locally on your device.

Data We Collect

We collect absolutely no data. Zero. None.

How the Extension Works

When you use API Testing Lite:

Permissions Explained

storage: Saves your request history and preferences locally on your device.

sidePanel: Provides a larger workspace in the browser side panel for composing requests.

contextMenus: Allows right-click integration to send selected text to the extension.

Host permissions (<all_urls>): Required to send HTTP requests to any API endpoint you specify. The extension must be able to reach arbitrary URLs including localhost, internal APIs, and public endpoints.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API:

This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us.

Third-Party Services

API Testing Lite does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or tracking tools.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy (unlikely, since we don't collect data), we'll update this page with the new date.
