How the Extension Works

When you use Regex Tester Pro:

Regex patterns and test strings are processed entirely in your browser
Saved patterns and preferences are stored locally on your device
No data is ever transmitted to external servers
All matching and testing happens client-side

Permissions Explained

storage: Required to save your regex patterns, test history, and user preferences locally. This data never leaves your device.

activeTab: Required to allow you to test regex patterns against content on the current page when you choose to do so. Only activated when you explicitly use this feature.

contextMenus: Required to add right-click menu options for quickly testing selected text against your patterns.

alarms: Required to schedule automatic pattern backups at user-configured intervals for data protection.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API:

Saved regex patterns and their descriptions
Test history and recent matches
User preferences and settings

This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us.

Remote Code

Regex Tester Pro does not use any remote code. All JavaScript is bundled within the extension package. No external scripts are loaded or executed.

Third-Party Services

Regex Tester Pro does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or tracking tools.
